Published research on the effects of SeaMax

The European Turfgrass Society Conference Proceedings have been published, and three collaborative research projects between ICL Specialty Fertilizers and partners were selected for the publication. One of the selected papers is ‘Ascophyllum nodosum extract use in plant parasitic nematode abundance and diversity on a golf green’, submitted by Royal Holloway PhD student Tamsin Williams.

Reducing PPN on the green

To conduct this four-year research, ICL and Royal Holloway, University of London joined forces in 2016. The research illustrates how applications of WSF SeaMax can be used to reduce variability and abundance of Helicotylenchus plant parasitic nematodes (PPN) on a golf green. It also illustrates how spatially variable PPN populations can be on turf and the need to ensure robust sampling to determine the extent of populations of this turf pest.
